New Profession Training Organization Selected

UpdatedWednesday December 30, 2015 byJeff Nagel.

Dear Players, Parents and Coaches,

The SYSL Board has spent the past year discussing the needs for improving our training programs, and the past 3-4 months meeting and reviewing potential Director of Coaching candidate organizations.

We are proud to announce that we have selected the highly respected Long Island Professional Soccer (LIPS)  organization for all our training programs.

This will greatly improve the caliber of training that we provide, while also offering additional training options in house that were previously not available.

LIPS has a well known reputation of achievement with a strong community club development approach, that is kind, supportive and nurturing. The organization was founded and is run by Tommy Lips, a former professional soccer player.

Tom is a product of Long Island Youth Soccer, after playing NCAA Division 1 in college, Tom played professional soccer for nine years both internationally in Europe and in the United States.

In 2006, Tom in his first season, coached the Long Island Lady Rough Riders to the USL Women’s play-offs. Tom has also worked for LIJ ODP and NYS ODP as a head coach.

Tom, a leader of Regional and National Championship Teams, was also recently interviewed to provide his opinion regarding the FIFA Scandal - News12 Interview

Please give Tom and the LIPS Staff a warm welcome to our club, as they unite our club and lead our soccer agenda with our full support.

There will be more information to follow, fall registration is open as is summer camp registration
