June 2020 UpdateUpdatedWednesday June 10, 2020 byChris Chaisty.
Good afternoon Parents,
To start we hope this email finds your family safe and healthy. Hard to believe we're already in June and the summer is upon us.
With that said, we'd like to make an important statement regarding the resumption of play- under no circumstances have we/and or any of our associations provided the okay to get back out on the field. We will continue to follow the direction of the New York State government mandate as well the Eastern New York State Soccer Association. On the home page of our website (www.sysl.org) you will find recent letters sent out by ENYYSA addressing this. We find it important to make mention of this as we're aware others (non-for-profits as well as community-based) have started in small groups. We will not put our players at risk, nor would they be covered by insurance in the event of an injury. As we progress throughout the NYS phases (for recreational sports we need to get to Phase 4) we are getting closer to being able to return. Suffice to say once we do so the world as we know it may be different as there will be precautions put in place to keep all safe.
Secondly as we know many have asked about account credits and/or refunds. Last week we received from the Sachem Central School District three invoices for our monthly rent (April through June). This has been surfaced to Dr. Graham as we hope this was an oversight. Surely with the state shutting down all activities, coupled with the district closing all facilities, we cannot believe this to be due. Unfortunately until this is resolved we are unable to move forward as this amount is sizable ($17K+) and will impact whatever amount we are able to provide back.
As both of the above situations are fluid we will be in contact as we learn more. As we being Phase 2 today we wish your family continued health...
